Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
I recently started Mockingjay, the third book in the Hunger Games series, and it is so good that I am already halfway through it. So before in Catching Fire, after Katniss blows up the arena in the horrible Quarter Quell, head gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee and Haymitch save her and Finnick Odair in the hovercraft. But it turns out Peeta Mellark was captured by the capital. Also, everyone Katniss trusted, has been in the rebellion against the capital for a while. Plutarch never had the arena's works kill Katniss because he is part of the revolution too. Katniss finds out about Peeta's capturing and the rebellion that she has been part of all along and did not know about. she feels betrayed by Haymitch because of this. But while she was in the Quarter Quell, the capital destroyed her home, district 12, with fireballs. Gale got Katniss's mother and sister out of district 12 during the attacks. Mockingjay starts off with Katniss walking in the ashes of her old home. Her new home is district 13, and it really does exist! In the beggining of the book and about up to where I am, they are explaining the revolution of the rebellion against the capital. Katniss has not known about this because Haymitch knew she would do something 'stupid' that would cost the lives of many that she loves. I am at the part where Katniss, Finnick, Gale, Cressida and the camera crew are filming Katniss in the woods making another video clip of her symbolizing how she is the rebel's mockingjay. A few new characters are introduced in this book, such as Cressida, Pollux, Castor, and Coin, district 13's leader. Pollux and Castor are Avox, which means they were once captured by the capital, had their tongues cut out and became servants. Each new character has their own distinct personality traits, like every other character in the books. You must read the rest of the series before picking up this book, because if you don't you will be extremely confused!! As you can see, this is a great book so far. Read it!!
